Connecting

1. After your server starts, open Valheim
2. Click "Start game"
3. Select your character
4. Click the "Join Game" panel
5. Click the "Add server" button
6. Enter [your server host]:[your server port] and click "Add server"
7. Select the server
8. Press the "Connect" button

Mods

Host Factor allows you to upload whatever mods you want to your server. A list of mods can be found here or here. To install any mod on your server:

1. Download the mod via the above links
2. Select your server in Host Factor
3. Click the "App Settings" button
4. Make sure you have either "Valheim Plus" or "Bep In Ex" checked
5. Under the "Disk" section where it says "Select your mods", upload the mod you just downloaded
6. Click "Confirm"

Saves

Host Factor will automatically back up your Valheim saves every ~10 minutes. You can download/upload saves whenever you want with no limit on size.

Uploading a save

1. Locate your save file. Depending on your OS your saves files could be located in different folders. Typically, they can be found in:
   
   Windows: Enter %appdata%\..\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds into the address bar in File Explorer

2. Find the "*.fwl" and "*.db" files for your save

3. Zip the above files. You can do this on all OS's by right-clicking after selecting the two files and "compressing" them.

4. Click on your server in Host Factor

5. In the sidebar that appears, click the "App Settings" button

6. Under the "Select a save file" section under "Disk", click the upload button.

7. Select the "*.zip" file you created previously

8. Navigate to the "Settings" section and under "World Name" enter the name of your "*.fwl" file. For example, if the file was called my_world.fwl, this field would be "my_world".

9. Click the "Confirm" button in Host Factor.

Downloading a save

Since we back up all of your save files, you can access them at any time in Host Factor:

1. Click on your server in Host Factor
2. In the sidebar that appears, click the "Files" button
3. Navigate to the "saves" directory
4. Select your save and click the "Download" button.
